Online video service (OTT) Netflix announced on the 25th that it will release 'Dojeok: Sound of the Sword' on September 22.
'Dojeok: Sound of the Sword' is an action drama set in 1920 in Jiandao, a lawless land where Chinese territory, Japanese money, and Korean people converge. It tells the story of those who unite to protect their loved ones and their homes. The cast includes actors Kim Nam-gil, Seo Hyun, Yoo Jae-myung, Lee Hyun-wook, and Lee Ho-jung.
The title 'Dojeok' does not simply mean a thief (盜賊) who steals others' belongings, but refers to the sound of the sword, combining the characters for sword (刀) and sound (?) to mean 'sound of the sword.'
Kim Nam-gil, who plays Lee Yoon-ro, the leader of the bandits in the drama, said, "While some people live to reclaim their country, the story's uniqueness lies in those who live to protect the people around them, which I found interesting." He added, "I was curious about what kind of synergy would emerge when the historical background and the story of those struggling to save their families come together."
