Genesis and Hyundai Motor Rank 1st and 2nd in Advanced Technology Satisfaction in the US

J.D. Power New Car Advanced Technology Satisfaction Survey

U.S. market research firm J.D. Power announced on the 24th (local time) that Genesis (656 points) and Hyundai Motor Company (547 points) ranked first and second overall in the ‘2023 U.S. Technology Experience Index Survey’ (TXI). They outperformed Cadillac (533 points), Lexus (533 points), BMW (528 points), and others.

This survey was conducted from February to May this year, targeting over 80,000 consumers who purchased 2023 model year new vehicles and owned them for more than 90 days. Customer satisfaction with 40 technologies included in four categories?convenience, latest automation technology, energy and sustainability, infotainment and connectivity?was measured on a 1000-point scale to evaluate each brand’s level of new technology innovation and ease of use.

Genesis achieved the highest score of 656 points across both luxury and non-luxury brands, marking the first place among all brands for the third consecutive year. Genesis’s 656 points exceed the luxury brand TXI average score of 588 by more than 70 points. Hyundai Motor Company scored 547 points, securing first place among non-luxury brands for the fourth consecutive year. The average TXI score for non-luxury brands is 478 points, and Hyundai also surpassed this by more than 70 points to claim the top spot.

Meanwhile, the Genesis GV80, Hyundai Palisade, and Sonata were selected as vehicles applying the best technologies in the ‘Advanced Technology Awards,’ which are part of the TXI. The ‘Advanced Technology Awards’ are given to vehicles that excellently apply each advanced technology.
