'2023 Global Wine and Food Trip' Held
Two Days at 'Sebitseom Floating Island'
Unlimited Wine Tasting and Abundant Attractions
The '2023 Global Wine & Food Trip,' where you can experience a diverse range of wines from around the world in one place, is set to take place.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the domestic wine market, which has grown rapidly, is moving from its introductory phase into maturity. Consumers who initially entered the wine market with affordable value-for-money products are evolving towards seeking complex flavors by considering grape varieties and regions. The wine preferences of domestic consumers, once centered on red wine, are expanding to include various white, ros?, and sparkling wines.
Asia Economy will host the 2023 Global Wine & Food Trip for two days starting on the 25th at the Sebitseom Floating Island in Seocho-gu, Seoul. Major domestic wine importers and food companies will participate, offering opportunities to taste wines from various regions and enjoy food pairings. Various performances and events such as lucky boxes will also be held.
Shinsegae L&B, the largest wine importer in Korea, will participate in this Global Wine & Food Trip, showcasing wines from famous wineries such as Robert Mondavi, Shafer Vineyards, Cono Sur, Two Hands, and Federico Paternina.
HiteJinro will present wines from the United States and New Zealand that can be enjoyed by both beginners and enthusiasts. The representative wine is 'Cambria' from Santa Barbara, an emerging region in California, USA. Cambria is a winery established in 1986 by Barbara Banke, chairwoman of Jackson Family Estates, the largest family-owned wine company in the United States. At this event, visitors can experience premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay produced based on Santa Barbara, known for its cool climate in California.

Vino.H, a wine import and distribution specialist under Hyundai Department Store Group, plans to showcase five types of wines at this event, including Italy’s value-for-money sweet wines favored by both beginners and enthusiasts, as well as newly imported wines from Australia and New Zealand.
A variety of refreshing sparkling wines to help forget the hot summer weather have also been prepared. Interlicker, a subsidiary of Drink International, will present the champagne 'Golden Blanc.' Dongwon Wine Plus will also showcase Italian sparkling wine Prosecco to delight enthusiasts’ eyes and palates. The representative product is '47AD Prosecco Extra Dry Black.' Its well-refined bubbles leave a pleasant aftertaste, and the balance of acidity and sweetness creates an attractive harmony.
Old World wines from the wine heartlands of France and Italy will also be prominently featured. Private wine F&B consultant 'Cellar Prive' has prepared 'Domaine Rolet Arbois Poulsard Vieilles Vignes' from the Jura region of France. Poulsard, a relatively unfamiliar red grape variety to domestic consumers, reveals its unique characteristics early on, with an appealing combination of intuitive aroma and sweet spice aroma.
'One One' plans to present high-quality Italian wines. The representative wine is 'Rocca del Principe Fiano Di Avellino D.O.C.G.' This white wine, made from 100% Fiano grapes, comes from Rocca del Principe, a family-run winery in the Campania region of southern Italy. It features elegant floral and fruit aromas and, without oak aging, vividly expresses tropical fruit flavors such as pineapple and mango.
Jaspero will focus on introducing various European wines including Italy’s Pico Maccario, Spain’s Tarongino, France’s Pierre Chavin Estate, as well as Castell D’or and Verum.
Wellgreen Radler will showcase wines from Austria, a hidden gem among wine regions. Representative wines include 'Cuvee Barrique Zweigelt Merlot' from Hoellerer and 'Kellermeister Blauer Zweigelt Reserve' from Winzer Krems.
Visitors can also experience wines from domestic producers.
