Choi Ho-kwon, Yeongdeungpo District Mayor, "We Will Provide Various Supports to Strengthen Youth Employment Skills and Alleviate Job Search Difficulties"
An event where job-seeking youth and companies meet as avatars in the metaverse (3D virtual world) will be held.
Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will hold a ‘Metaverse Job Fair’ on the 26th for young job seekers hoping to work in advanced digital fields in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution era.
Youth can attend the job fair without physically visiting, experiencing job explanations from current employees and special lectures from HR managers of large companies in the metaverse, and can also have direct conversations with the speakers.
The job fair will be held on the 26th from 1 PM to 6 PM on ‘Yeongtown,’ Yeongdeungpo’s youth metaverse platform. ‘Yeongtown,’ newly launched last year to support youth employment and entrepreneurship and promote communication, has been conducting mentoring for employment and entrepreneurship, financial technology lectures, and various one-day courses.
The ‘Metaverse Job Fair’ will feature youth policy promotions, ▲job explanations and company introductions by current employees in digital fields such as internet-based information and communication resource integration and sharing services (cloud) and development ▲a special lecture on strategic resume writing and interviews by ‘Jerry Mento,’ a YouTuber and former Samsung Electronics HR team member known for ‘Starting Work from Tomorrow’ ▲and various events such as treasure hunts by the youth center ‘Yeongdeungpo Orang.’
In particular, the job explanation sessions will be led by current employees working in digital fields, providing vivid job descriptions for successful employment, industry outlooks, acceptance strategies, and hiring trends.
Anyone aged 19 to 39 who is unemployed can participate by accessing the application form through the QR code on the poster and submitting it.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “Through this job fair, we hope that young people aspiring to work in the rapidly emerging digital fields will find jobs and gain various information,” adding, “We will continue to actively support providing job information tailored to the youth’s perspective so that they can succeed in employment.”
