Gachon University, Second Semester Graduation Ceremony on the 24th... 1,509 Graduates Including 76 Doctorates Gachon University President Lee Gil-yeo is conferring degrees to graduates at the commencement ceremony on the 24th.

Gachon University held the 2022 academic year second semester graduation ceremony on the 24th at the University Ye-eum Hall. The number of degree recipients was 76 doctoral, 360 master's, and 1,073 bachelor's graduates, totaling 1,509.


About 3,000 people attended the ceremony, including President Lee Gil-yeo, Senior Vice President Choi Mi-ri, other academic officers, Song Seong-geun, president of the Gachon University Alumni Association, parents, and graduates.


Su-bin Kang (female, 21) from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Yun-su Lee (26), majoring in Global Business Management, received the President's Award.


In his congratulatory speech titled "Set Your Aspirations High and Move Forward Strongly," Gachon University President Lee Gil-yeo said, "Graduates, like the crew of Columbus's Santa Maria who courageously and ambitiously set out to discover unknown new continents, you must pioneer your path while battling fierce storms. Do not fear failure; nothing is impossible in life. Everyone may stumble over a stone and fall into despair at some point. However, you must stand tall with the spirit of a windmill, using failure and headwinds as your driving force."


He continued, "I hope you dream big, set your aspirations high, and live a life of continuous learning fueled by curiosity. In the era of artificial intelligence (AI), you must cultivate insights that AI cannot replace and never neglect studying new things and innovations that will shape the future. Use curiosity as your fuel to keep burning and studying relentlessly, and live passionately," he added.
