Kakao Style's style commerce platform 'Zigzag' announced on the 24th that the transaction amount of products self-produced and sold by SOHO shopping malls in the last three months increased by 40% compared to the same period last year, starting from May 21.
As of the 23rd, more than half of the products ranked within the top 10 bestsellers on Zigzag were found to be self-produced by the shopping malls. Among the 'Direct Delivery' bestsellers, which can be received the next day if ordered today, the wide training pants self-produced by a shopping mall ranked first.
Products sold at SOHO shopping malls are usually divided into Dongdaemun purchasing and self-production. Shopping malls with a certain scale tend to have a high proportion of products directly produced and sold, focusing on basic items such as T-shirts, slacks, and shirts. These products, produced under the shopping mall's name with basic quality, are usually priced between 10,000 and 30,000 KRW, making them popular among 2030 female customers who want cost-effective shopping.
The transaction amounts of shopping malls known for various types of self-produced products such as office wear and daily wear are also on the rise. The transaction amount of 'Slowand,' a representative shopping mall for 2030 women, increased by 55% in the last three months compared to the same period last year, and 'Dailyju' also saw a 25% increase during the same period. Slowand and Dailyju are well-known among 2030 women, with quarterly transaction amounts exceeding 10 billion KRW and 5 billion KRW respectively within Zigzag.
The shopping mall 'Ganaesra,' famous for self-produced products, also saw a 52% increase in transaction amount over the last three months. The transaction amount of 'Edmore,' a shopping mall that sold 70,000 self-produced knit zip-ups on Zigzag last year, surged by 224% compared to the previous year.
A Kakao Style official stated, "Due to the recent high inflation, consumers are increasingly looking to purchase clothes at reasonable prices, leading to a rise in demand for shopping mall self-produced products that emphasize basic designs and cost-effectiveness." They added, "We hope customers explore various products on Zigzag, which encompasses both SOHO fashion and brand fashion."
