The Lifelong Education Center of Silla University has been selected in the public contest for the ‘2023 HAHA Center Living Zone Pilot Project’ promoted by Busan City.
Busan City is promoting the ‘15-minute city’ as a major policy project, which aims to provide abundant spaces within a 15-minute walking distance for the new senior generation to use various welfare facilities.
On the 22nd, Silla University’s Lifelong Education Center was selected in the ‘Happy and Healthy Aging HAHA Center Living Zone Pilot Project’ contest, one of Busan City’s ‘15-minute city’ initiatives, aimed at fostering local community formation and activating social contribution.
At the Silla University HAHA Center, plans are in place to offer demand-tailored programs differentiated from existing ones, including ▲ opportunities for seniors to acquire knowledge and self-development ▲ formation of a healthy senior culture and enjoyable old age life (operating a book cafe, etc.) ▲ senior singing classes ▲ gardening in vegetable patches.
A center official stated, “Leveraging the advantages of our nature-friendly campus, we will create a HAHA Center complex cultural space on the 3rd floor of Yeeum Hall, featuring an outdoor cafe as a comfortable resting place for the new senior generation, a multipurpose hall to enjoy various cultures, and a community space for the elderly.”
