Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, Checks Resident Safety with the Creation of ‘Gangdong-style Safe Return Path’
On the 22nd, Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, visited Seongnae 2-dong to inspect the safety facilities of the recently completed ‘Gangdong-style Safe Return Path’ and ensure the safety of residents on their way home.
Amid growing resident anxiety due to recent shocking incidents becoming social issues day after day, the district has actively promoted the ‘Gangdong-style Safe Return Path’ to not only prevent crime but also raise residents’ awareness of safety.
This Safe Return Path was created along Cheonho-daero 168-gil area (from Gangdong Station Exit 3 to Anmal Children’s Park) by applying and installing safety facilities based on the district’s self-developed ‘Gangdong-style Safe Return Path Design Manual.’ It features carefully considered facilities and designs to create a safer environment for returning home, including ▲comprehensive guideboards for women’s safe return paths ▲report location and guidance pavement signs ▲report location indicator signs ▲emergency bells ▲private CCTV indicator signs ▲mirror sheets and reflective sheets attached to villa entrances and parking lots.
Mayor Lee Soo-hee stated, “I hope the Gangdong-style Safe Return Path can help alleviate some of the fear of crime,” and added, “We will continue to actively promote environmental improvement projects for crime prevention to build a social safety net where residents can live with greater peace of mind.”
