Hapcheon-gun to Operate 'Life Sharing Blood Donation Day' on September 1

Please Join in Blood Donation to Save Precious Lives

Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will operate a "Blood Donation Week" for one week and conduct a blood donation campaign to overcome the difficulty of blood supply together, in celebration of "Hapcheon-gun Blood Donation Day" on September 1.


This blood donation campaign, hosted by Hapcheon-gun and the Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Blood Center, will start on the 28th and continue until the 1st of next month. It was prepared to raise awareness of blood donation among the residents of Hapcheon-gun.

In addition, visits will be made to Wanghu Market and other related organizations to promote the necessity of blood donation and the Blood Donation Day held on September 1.


The eligible age for blood donation participation is between 16 and under 70 years old. Those aged 65 and over can only donate if they have previous blood donation experience between the ages of 60 and 64. Those who have been confirmed with COVID-19 can donate blood 10 days after the quarantine release date.


Those who are ineligible for blood donation include ▲ people who have taken medication for treatment or received vaccinations and the required period has not passed ▲ people who are fasting before blood donation (must eat before donating) ▲ people who have undergone endoscopy within one month ▲ travelers abroad within one month.


Residents who wish to participate in blood donation on September 1 should bring identification such as a resident registration card or driver's license and visit Hapcheon-gun Office (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), the police station (morning), or Jeokjung-myeon Health Center (afternoon). Participants will receive a blood donation certificate, blood test, a small souvenir and snacks, and 4 hours of volunteer work recognized through the Volunteer Certification Management Center.


An Myeong-gi, the head of the health center, said, “The health center will strive to spread the culture of blood donation and overcome the blood supply shortage. We hope many residents will show interest and participate in this loving blood donation event that saves precious lives.”
