Jeonbuk Provincial Agricultural Research Institute Utilizes 'Rural Experience Farms' Linked to Neulbom School

"Elementary Students' Rural Agriculture Activities... Supporting Healthy Emotional Development"

The Jeonbuk Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services (Director Choi Jun-yeol) held a 'Rural Tourism Research Association Activation Workshop' linked with the educational policy Neulbom School for two days starting from the 21st, targeting over 70 rural experience tourism operators in the province.


According to the Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services on the 22nd, this workshop aims to foster and revitalize rural experience farms in the province in line with educational policies. It strengthened capabilities to help elementary school students develop healthy emotional growth through agricultural activities in rural areas before and after regular classes.


The training was conducted in Nokdurang and Sirurang villages in Jeongeup City. They explored ways to utilize rural experience farms linked with educational policies, developed and practiced programs suited to trends, and shared excellent cases of rural experience kits.

On this day, Jeon Ji-hyun, a supervisor from the Jeonbuk Office of Education, conducted a session titled 'Current Status of Educational Policies and Jeonbuk-type Neulbom School Policy.' She explained the national project 'Elementary School Neulbom School' and the direction for promoting the Jeonbuk-type Neulbom School, seeking ways to utilize rural experience farms.


Neulbom School integrates education and care before and after regular classes for all elementary students who wish to participate, utilizing various educational resources inside and outside the school. It is scheduled for nationwide expansion next year.


Park Byung-joo, a teacher from Wanju, gave a keynote lecture titled 'Model Presentation of Experience Farms in Collaboration with Schools Linked to the Free Semester System,' which was conducted using techniques to facilitate communication with participants, receiving great responses.


Participants enhanced their capabilities by understanding content development through social skills improvement programs via play and kit development practice using paper. They also spent a meaningful time sharing excellent cases of rural experience kits and events.


An official from the Agricultural Research and Extension Services stated, "To revitalize rural experience farms, we plan to operate training programs and promotional centers for teachers and supervisors in cooperation with the Office of Education, including 'Rural Education Farm Quality Certification' education."


Choi Yoon-hee, head of the Resource Management Division, said, "Rural experience farms are places where children can experience agricultural activities as they are in rural areas, helping their healthy emotional development and gaining educational effects," and urged, "Please strive to manage the quality of rural experience farms in connection with educational policies."
