Score Reflecting Functional Ingredient Content, Two Sites Selected in Boseong
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that ‘Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest’ and the ‘Jeonnam Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center’ were selected as ‘Premium Groundwater’ in 2022 based on the test results from the Jeollanam-do Health and Environment Research Institute.
The Jeollanam-do Health and Environment Research Institute conducted this survey applying the surface index (J-INDEX) developed considering the geological characteristics of the Jeonnam region, and selected the top 50 premium groundwater sources based on the results.
Additionally, to provide safe water information to residents, the survey reflected scores on mineral and functional component content for groundwater developed and used as drinking water.
Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest, spanning 160 hectares of forest, offers various adventure facilities including camping and diverse experiential activities, with well-preserved clean air, pristine forests, and valleys.
Within the forest, there are 56 lodging facilities and an accessible deck trail for forest bathing, making Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest a proud destination attracting about 300,000 visitors annually as a representative recreational site in Korea.
A Boseong-gun official stated, “We will continuously conduct water quality tests to maintain premium groundwater and do our best to supply delicious and healthy water to visitors of the recreation forest.”
