Gangbuk-gu, 2nd Uicheon Yeoul Market Held

Seoul’s Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) will hold the ‘2nd Ui Stream Yeoul Market’ from 4 PM to 9 PM on the 25th and 26th along the Ui Stream area between Ssanghan Bridge and Suyu Bridge.

The ‘Ui Stream Yeoul Market’ is a local event that revitalizes traditional markets by utilizing Ui Stream, one of the district’s cultural resources. For its second edition, the district has designed the program to give visitors a preview of the upcoming Ui Stream Beer Festival, the ‘Gangbuk Baekmaek Festival,’ scheduled for September.

On the 26th, the brewery booth of the ‘Suyu Craft Beer Project Cooperative,’ which brews, sells, and distributes craft beers such as Suyu Pale Ale, Suyu IPA (India Pale Ale), and Appa Lager, will be featured. Additionally, on both the 25th and 26th, the ‘Hwasu Brewery Seoul Gangbuk Branch,’ known as one of Korea’s first-generation breweries selling craft beers like Insu Peak, Yuzu Pale Ale, and Vanilla Stout, will operate a brewery booth at the Ui Stream Yeoul Market.

Alongside this, the Baeknyeon Market pop-up store will be open on both days, offering a variety of foods under 10,000 KRW, including ▲instant barbecue ▲cheese cube sausage steak ▲pan-fried chicken breast ▲pork belly maze soba, providing affordable and delicious options.

The food offerings have been consulted by Chef Jeon Hyun-jin, a Japanese cuisine expert and professor in the Department of Culinary Arts at Korea Polytechnic University, who has experience working at luxury hotels, to pair perfectly with the beers.

Moreover, a flea market exhibiting and selling works by craft artists active in Gangbuk-gu will be held, along with diverse programs where visitors can experience pottery, knotting, silver crafts, and more. From 7 PM, lively busking performances by Gangbuk-gu based artists will continue against the beautiful nightscape of Ui Stream and Bukhansan Mountain.

The district will provide rest zones where visitors can enjoy food and drinks and plans to hold SNS-based events to engage attendees.

Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, stated, “We are enhancing the competitiveness of traditional markets through arcade installations, safe design, and business modernization projects. We plan to offer a variety of food and entertainment at the Gangbuk Baekmaek Festival in September to further revitalize traditional markets, and we ask for your great interest.”
