Cheongju University and Korea Aerospace University Joint Team Wins Grand Prize
Ninety university and graduate students aspiring to become future software developers gathered and competed fiercely over a two-day overnight event held from the 17th to the 18th at the SoGaeDing (Software Development Security Secure Coding) competition.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Korea Internet & Security Agency announced on the 21st the 12 teams awarded in the finals of the 10th SoGaeDing Competition held on the 18th.
This year’s competition saw 49 teams from 33 universities participate in the preliminary round held throughout July, with 25 teams advancing to the finals after evaluation. The 25 teams from 20 universities that reached the finals competed by developing and implementing creative ideas into secure software using Java or Python programming languages, showcasing their skills against each other.
The team ‘null saranghaji ana (Cheongju University and Korea Aerospace University alliance)’ won the grand prize with their ‘Allergy Safe Service,’ while the ‘Eorageumji (Kyonggi University)’ team’s ‘Reborn Service’ and the ‘Geuneulmak (Seoul Women’s University)’ team’s ‘Heat Shelter Information Service’ received the excellence awards.
The 12 awarded teams will receive prize money and benefits such as exemption from document screening or additional points during document screening in recruitment processes at companies including Coupang, AhnLab, ESTsecurity, Logpresso, and Sparrow.
Jang Dong-su, Director of the Digital Safety Policy Division at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, “We could feel the participants’ enthusiasm for the competition through their passionate performances during the two-day overnight finals,” adding, “We will continue to actively discover and support future software developers who will lead safe public services in the digital platform government.”
