From September 21 to December 20, participants will perform safety duties for 3 months and take part in the Gwanak Happy Life Leader Project
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is recruiting additional participants for the ‘2023 Second Half Seoul Companion Jobs’ program to support the livelihood and self-reliance of low-income groups, employment-vulnerable groups, and the unemployed facing economic difficulties.
The district operated the largest Seoul city district Companion Jobs program in both the first and second halves of this year, and actively applied for additional Seoul city funding, securing approximately 1 billion KRW in Seoul city budget, enabling the recruitment of 150 additional participants.
The program period is three months from September 21 to December 20, during which participants will be assigned to Dong Community Service Centers to perform tasks such as ▲safety duties and patrols of risk factors according to seasonal and weather conditions ▲supporting the separation and disposal of recyclables as part of the ‘Gwanak Happy Life Leader’ duties.
Working hours are five days a week, 3 to 5 hours per day (5 hours for those under 65, 3 hours for those 65 and older). Participants will also receive various employment benefits including enrollment in the four major social insurances, payment of weekly and monthly allowances, health checkups for safety and health management, and education on safety and health, sexual harassment prevention, and human rights.
The application period is until August 24, and any Gwanak-gu resident aged 18 or older with the ability to work as of the program start date is eligible to apply.
Residents wishing to participate should check the recruitment announcement posted on the Gwanak-gu website (News & Notices → Job Announcements), then bring the application documents and apply in person at their local Dong Community Service Center.
The district will comprehensively review applicants’ assets, income, and participation history, announce the final selected candidates on September 19, and contact them individually.
Mayor Park Junhee said, “We are pleased to achieve good results in the Seoul city competition and provide more jobs to residents. We believe that jobs are one of the best forms of welfare. We will continue to focus on creating stable and sustainable jobs to recover the local economy and improve residents’ happiness index.”
