Ulleung-gun Operates Traditional Children's Play Program

From the 17th to the 18th, Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk, operated a traditional play program provided by the children's play song group 'Eokkaedongmu Ssidungmu.'

This event was organized by the Gyeongbuk Women's Policy Development Institute (Director Ha Geum-suk) and was implemented to visit mountainous island and county areas in the Gyeongbuk region to help create a healthy play environment for children.

Children at daycare centers and kindergartens in Ulleung-gun are enjoying playing together.

Fifty children from the Ulleung-gun public daycare center (Kkumnamu Daycare Center) and 34 children from a private kindergarten (Dodong Kindergarten) participated in four teams and had an enjoyable time.

Choi Yoon-young, director of Kkumnamu Daycare Center, said, “I am glad to once again realize the importance and value of free play, and it makes me happy to see the children’s joyful expressions.”

Nam Han-kwon, mayor of Ulleung-gun, said, “We will strive to guarantee children’s right to play and to spread a healthy play culture.”
