This program, part of a regional innovation project, has been promoted since last year through a public contest by Icheon City and the Gyeonggi Human Resources Development Committee under the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s regional and industry-customized job creation support project, and is planned to be conducted over the next four years.
From the 31st of last month to the 11th of this month, the program provided a total of 80 hours of education, including semiconductor theory and practical training such as pattern formation, metal thin film processes, and dry and wet oxide film processes, targeting nine third-year students from the Digital Electronics Department of Icheon Jeil High School.
The city plans to establish a systematic talent development framework that connects education programs focused on practical, customized knowledge and skills to employment at excellent semiconductor companies in the region.
Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon City, said, "Through this program, we will do our best in talent development education, which forms the foundation of the semiconductor industry, and lay the groundwork for nurturing future talents in Icheon City.”
