Do you know the new village enterprises in the Ulsan area selected by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety this year?

Ulsan City and the Ulsan Economic and Job Promotion Agency announced that they held a plaque ceremony for four new village enterprises selected by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for 2023 over two days on the 17th and 18th.

Village enterprises are community-level businesses that utilize local resources to generate profits and solve common regional problems, selected annually through screening by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The new village enterprises that held the plaque ceremony this time are four in total: one in Dong-gu, one in Buk-gu, and two in Ulju-gun.

On the 17th, two village enterprises located in Seosaeng-myeon, Ulju-gun held their plaque ceremony. They are the ‘Ganjeolgot Tomato Cooperative,’ which processes and sells fresh tomatoes and runs a salted napa cabbage business, and the ‘Ganjeolgot Silnara Workshop Cooperative,’ which develops and sells hand-knitted and upcycled products.

On the 18th, the ‘Nongso 1-dong Resident Autonomy Social Cooperative,’ which operates a vegetable garden experiential learning center and processes and sells agricultural products in Buk-gu, Ulsan, and the ‘Areumdawoom Bangojin Cooperative,’ which develops and sells kimchi using seawater and local traditional foods in Dong-gu, Ulsan, held their plaque ceremonies.

The four village enterprises that held the plaque ceremony this time will receive 50 million won in project funds, as well as systematic management consulting including capacity-building education, counseling, promotion, and market development.

An official from Ulsan City said, “We hope that by informing local residents about the designation of village enterprises, the enterprises will grow by expanding collaboration and communication with residents to solve regional problems and contribute to job creation.”
