Yoo Haneul Runner-up, Choi Byungwook 3rd Place Shine in Individual Events
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 17th that the Muan-gun Office Kendo Team (Coach Lee Kwang-cheol) delivered an outstanding performance at the 2023 Summer National Business Kendo Championship, winning the 7-member team event, finishing as runner-up in the individual 6th dan division, and securing 3rd place in the 4th dan division.

Hosted by the Korea Business Kendo Federation and organized by the Changnyeong-gun Kendo Association, the tournament was held over four days from the 3rd to the 7th at the Changnyeong County Gymnasium in Gyeongnam Province, with about 500 participants from 26 men's and women's business kendo teams.
In the 7-member team event, the Muan-gun Office Kendo Team advanced to the finals by defeating Ulsan City Hall (preliminaries), Yongin City Hall (quarterfinals), and Inje-gun Office (semifinals), and won the championship by narrowly beating Daegu Dalseo-gu Office 2:1 in the final match.
Additionally, Yoo Ha-neul, who played a key role as the captain in the team final, advanced to the individual 6th dan division final but unfortunately lost, finishing in 2nd place. Choi Byung-wook also achieved an excellent result by placing 3rd in the 4th dan division.
Governor Kim San expressed his gratitude, saying, "I thank the athletes who dedicated themselves to training during the hot summer and elevated the prestige of Muan-gun with their excellent results. I hope this tournament served as an opportunity for the players to further develop their skills, and I look forward to good results at the 104th National Sports Festival to be held in October."
Meanwhile, the Muan-gun Office Kendo Team, founded in 2002, consists of 10 members and not only achieves excellent results in every competition but also participates as representatives of Jeollanam-do in the annual National Sports Festival.
