The international academic journal Nature reported that the LK-99, claimed by the Korean Quantum Energy Research Institute researchers to be a room-temperature and ambient-pressure superconductor, is not a superconductor, causing related stocks to experience sharp fluctuations.
As of 9:39 AM on the 17th, Seonam was recorded at 9,020 KRW, down 13.85% compared to the previous trading day. At the same time, Mobis fell 11.94% to 4,055 KRW, and Kukil Shindong dropped 18.69% to 4,545 KRW. However, Shinseong Delta Tech rose 16.35% to 60,500 KRW, and Deoksungwoo increased 9.29% to 12,000 KRW.
Earlier, Nature published an article stating that LK-99 is not a superconductor. Nature explained, "Impurities in this material, especially copper sulfide, are the cause of the sudden drop in electrical resistance and partial levitation over magnets, which resemble the characteristics exhibited by superconductors."
