The Latest on the 7 Billion Lotto Winner... "Became a Building Owner but Continues the Same Work"

1052nd Lotto 1st Prize 3 Winners, 3rd Prize 2 Winners
Net Receipt 4.7 Billion KRW... "Bought a House, Car, and Building"

A Lotto winner of 7 billion KRW has recently shared an update that he became a "5 billion KRW building owner" in just 7 months, attracting attention.

On the 16th, an online community posted an update about Mr. A, who reportedly won 1st prize three times and 3rd prize twice in the 1052nd Lotto draw held last January. Mr. A introduced himself as "an ordinary office worker with no connection to Donghaeng Lottery."

At that time, Mr. A won approximately 7 billion KRW with three 1st prizes and two 3rd prizes. However, after taxes, the actual amount received was about 4.7 billion KRW. He said, "It's a pity that 7 billion KRW was reduced to 4.7 billion KRW, but since even winning 50,000 KRW is difficult, 4.7 billion KRW is an amount that can change a person's life."

Mr. A revealed that he purchased a house worth 1.2 billion KRW, a car worth 350 million KRW, and a building worth 5 billion KRW that houses a Starbucks using the winnings. He added, "Currently, I don't have a large amount of cash on hand," and explained, "I have debts, monthly rental income ranging from 10 to 20 million KRW, my salary, and assets such as the building."

Even after winning tens of billions in the lotto, Mr. A continues to work at his job. He said, "My biggest concerns after winning were whether to quit my job and how to use the money," adding, "I thought that having money would allow me to work more comfortably, so I am still quietly working." It was reported that he disclosed his winning status to his coworkers.

He said, "I don't usually buy lotto tickets often," and added, "A friend who usually buys lotto tickets kept urging me to go buy some, so I borrowed 5,000 KRW from friends and bought tickets, which ended up winning." After winning, he gave a large sum of money to his friends out of gratitude.

Regarding the winning numbers, he explained, "I usually buy 3 to 5 games with the same numbers. But that day, I bought only 3 games with the same numbers and wanted to slightly change the others," adding, "I combined my favorite numbers, birthdays, anniversaries, and age spontaneously." He also said, "I don't usually dream much. (On the day I won) I really didn't have any dreams."

Mr. A reflected, "I started from a single basement room when I was young and lived a hard life chasing money all my life," and said, "Now that I have risen to the upper-middle class at once, the world feels really fun and enjoyable."

He also said he plans to live helping those around him with his lotto winnings. He added, "I won't be able to make large donations like wealthy company chairmen in the future, but I will live helping those who are struggling or having difficulties around me as much as possible."
