The purpose of the forum was to enhance teachers' understanding of the joint curriculum operation and curriculum reorganization for small-scale kindergartens, and to establish a cooperative system among provincial offices of education related to this.

The small-scale kindergarten play-centered curriculum refers to a curriculum jointly operated by one central kindergarten and two cooperating kindergartens, focusing on play. This year, the provincial office of education selected and is supporting four central kindergartens.

At the forum, Researcher Kwon Soon-hyung from the Korea Educational Development Institute gave a presentation titled "Establishing and Direction of Support Systems for Small-scale Schools in the Era of Declining School-age Population," and Professor Lee Seong-hee from the Department of Early Childhood Education at Kongju National University presented on "Composition and Evaluation of Joint Curricula for Small-scale Kindergartens."

Following this, the Jeollabuk-do and Gyeongnam Offices of Education introduced cases of joint curriculum operation and curriculum reorganization, spending time communicating with attendees to discuss future tasks.

The forum was broadcast live on YouTube for kindergarten teachers and early childhood education experts nationwide who found it difficult to participate in person.

An official from the provincial office of education stated, "This national forum was a valuable time to gather diverse opinions from kindergarten teachers and early childhood education experts within the educational community and to seek support measures," adding, "We will continue to support the healthy growth and development of young children based on cooperation among small-scale kindergartens."
