Establishment of 2-Year Master's Program with Employment Conditions
20 Candidates to Be Selected from Next Year... Focus on Electrification and SDV
Hyundai Motor Company and Seoul National University announced on the 16th that they will establish a contract department for a master's program with employment conditions.
It will be operated under the name Department of Future Automotive Mobility and is the first contract department for a master's program with employment conditions created by Seoul National University in collaboration with a company. Upon completing the two-year program, students will join Hyundai Motor Company.
The company explained, "This is to cultivate world-class engineering leaders in line with the changes in the mobility industry driven by the acceleration of software-defined vehicle (SDV) development and to gain an advantage in the technological hegemony competition surrounding the future mobility industry."
Specifically, the program is divided into two software fields, including electrification control and autonomous driving. Both parties plan to recruit new students for next year in the second half of this year and select 20 talents annually. The program will be operated in connection with the Future Automotive Technology Convergence Innovation Talent Development Project, which targets undergraduate students.
The curriculum consists of ▲Electrification Engineering ▲Electric Vehicle System Design ▲SDV Cloud Computing ▲Vehicle Control and Application Software including Autonomous Driving. Seoul National University and Hyundai Motor Company jointly developed the program to nurture practical talents who can be immediately deployed to frontline research and development sites without separate job training.
