Conducting Unique Experiment of Dipping in Water and Hanging on Balloons... Experiencing OLED Advantages
Samsung Display will participate in the 2023 Korea Display Industry Exhibition (hereinafter 'K-Display 2023'), held at COEX in Seoul from the 16th to the 18th.
Under the theme "Big step on the journey to a sustainable future life," Samsung Display will showcase a wide range of innovative products, including rollable, slidable, and bendable displays equipped for digital cockpits.
First, the exhibition will feature the 12.4-inch rollable display, first unveiled at SID 2023 in May, along with various foldable products that can be folded in multiple ways and slidable products with screens that expand in one or both directions. Various prototypes representing the future of foldable displays will also be presented, such as the 'S'-shaped foldable that folds twice inward and outward, the 'G'-shaped foldable that folds twice inward, and a laptop-type foldable that expands from 13 inches when folded to 17.3 inches when unfolded.
The future automotive OLED solution, "New Digital Cockpit," which attracted attention at CES 2023, will also be showcased at this exhibition. This product offers 34-inch and 15.6-inch multi-screen solutions tailored to the interior space of digitalized future vehicles.
Visitors can also experience a comparison of image quality between QD-OLED and LCD displays, as well as see the newly added 77-inch TV QD-OLED and 49-inch monitor products in this year’s lineup. In particular, a "Game Experience Zone" featuring Pearl Abyss’s MMORPG game "Black Desert," popular for its 34-inch QD-OLED monitor, has been set up in one corner of the exhibition hall.
In the interactive exhibition zone called "Dr. OLED’s Strange Laboratory," visitors can directly experience the advantages of OLED through unique experiments.
A Samsung Display official said, "We wanted to showcase the technology Samsung Display has accumulated over a long period through fun experiments," adding, "We expect visitors to naturally feel the excellence of OLED through 'Dr. OLED’s Strange Laboratory.'"
Meanwhile, Geunsoo Lee, Executive Director in charge of the Small and Medium Display Business Development Office, received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award at the opening ceremony for his contributions to the development of UPC Plus technology for foldables.
