Kim Tae-ri and Hong Kyung Voice Roles in Netflix Animation 'I Byeore Need'

Online video service (OTT) Netflix announced on the 16th that it will produce the animated film 'I Byeore Needeun' (Needed on This Star).

'I Byeore Needeun' is an animated film about the longest-distance long-distance relationship (long-distance romance) between astronaut Nanyeong and musician Jay, featuring voice acting by actors Kim Tae-ri and Hong Kyung.

Kim Tae-ri takes on her first voice acting role as Nanyeong, an astronaut who has dreamed of space travel. Nanyeong is a scientist who wants to go to Mars to find traces of her mother who failed to return to Earth due to an accident, and she is selected for the 2050 4th Mars exploration project.

Hong Kyung plays Jay, a musician who falls in love with Nanyeong. Jay, who repairs retro audio equipment and also works as a musician, meets Nanyeong by chance and fatefully reunites through a turntable, a memento left by Nanyeong’s mother, nurturing their love.

Director Han Ji-won, who rose like a comet in the animation world by leading the theatrical release of her first short film 'Kopiruwak' made while attending Korea National University of Arts, is in charge of the screenplay and direction. Director Han was recently invited to the Sundance Film Festival with her short film 'The Sea on the Day Magic Returns.'
