The Hangzhou Asian Games, postponed last year due to the spread of COVID-19, will be held from September 29 to October 8. Approximately 12,500 athletes from a record 45 countries will participate. South Korea will send a delegation of about 1,140 athletes competing in 39 events.
Vice Minister Jang plans to develop the Jincheon Training Center into a comprehensive facility with the world's best training environment to support athletes and coaches. In particular, she is focusing on securing proper safety facilities and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and metaverse technologies into sports science support. During the visit, while inspecting safety facilities and training equipment, she said, "Having personally experienced life at the training center as a national athlete, I will carefully attend to the needs of the athletes from their perspective."
