'Specialized High Schools and Prestigious University Admission Fair' to be Held Next Month in Yangcheon-gu

Held at Yangcheon-gu Sports Center and Haenuri Town

Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced on the 15th that it will hold the ‘Y Education Expo 2023 Career and College Admission Expo,’ inviting experts in various career and college admission fields to provide one-stop admission planning information, on the 8th and 9th of next month at the Yangcheon-gu Citizens Sports Center and Haenuri Town.

This ‘Career and College Admission Expo’ will be divided into two themes: the ‘High School Admission Expo’ and the ‘University Admission Information Expo.’ On the 8th of next month, the ‘High School Admission Expo’ will host a ‘School-specific Admission Briefing’ featuring 11 local high schools, as well as nationally recognized autonomous private high schools (Sangsan High School, Yongin Foreign Language High School, Hana High School), science high schools (Sejong Science High School), and foreign language high schools (Da-il Foreign Language High School, Myungduk Foreign Language High School).

Additionally, through ‘School-specific Promotion Booths’ operated directly by teachers and students from 15 high schools in Yangcheon-gu, as well as Sangsan High School and Hana High School, information on each school’s unique characteristics and curricula under the high school credit system will be provided in one place.

On the 9th of next month, the ‘University Admission Information Expo’ will feature ‘University-specific Counseling Booths’ with nine current admissions officers from universities such as Sogang University, Korea Military Academy, and Kangwon National University, as well as ‘1:1 University Admission Counseling’ sessions conducted by former admissions officers from ten universities including Seoul National University, Korea University, Ewha Womans University, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

Specialized ‘Field-specific Admission Briefings’ on detailed topics such as prestigious overseas universities, pharmacy programs, and the 2024 college entrance exam will also be held. Starting with the ‘Ivy League University Admission Briefing’ hosted by Crimson Education, a specialized overseas study agency, there will be a ‘Korea University Pharmacy Program Admission Briefing’ led by current university admissions staff, and a ‘2024 College Entrance Strategy Briefing’ conducted by Lim Seong-ho, CEO of Jongro Academy, scheduled by time slots.

Moreover, on the 8th and 9th of next month, ‘Study Abroad Counseling Booths’ will be available, featuring the official study abroad counseling center under the U.S. Department of State (Education USA), the Canadian Embassy, and the New Zealand Education Promotion Agency. In addition, ‘1:1 Admission Counseling with Current and Former Career and College Admission Specialist Teachers’ providing in-depth information on both high school and college admissions will be prepared.
