Understanding Historical Culture and Marine Sports Experience
Youth, Opportunity to Release Healthy Energy
Uljin County, Gyeongbuk (County Governor Son Byung-bok) operated the 'Enjoying My Hometown, Uljin Summer Camp' for about 30 middle school students in the area on the 13th.
This camp was organized to provide youth participation committee members, who are on summer vacation, with an opportunity to learn about the marine environment and historical culture of their hometown Uljin, to help them release healthy energy and relieve academic stress, thereby nurturing their dreams and hopes.
The camp activities included understanding Uljin's history through Daepunghun and the Suto Culture Exhibition Hall, experiencing boarding at Uljin Yacht School, and playing in the water at Mangyang Beach.
A participating youth said, "It was my first time visiting Sutosah and Daepunghun, and I could feel our ancestors' determination to protect the territory. I had a very enjoyable day playing in the water with my friends."
Jang Myung-ok, Director of the Social Welfare Division, said, "I hope this activity, which allowed participants to fully experience and feel the ecological resources and cultural heritage of our hometown, served as an opportunity to reflect on the beauty and value of the region's history, culture, and ecology, and to foster pride."
