Meritz Asset Management will change its name to KCGI Asset Management and make a fresh start from the 15th. It unveiled the ‘Kobuli’ mascot symbolizing stock price rise and launched a customer event wishing for economic independence for all citizens.
KCGI’s CI will be newly applied to the website, fund investment apps, etc., and fund names will be gradually changed from Meritz to KCGI.
The Kobuli, which will be KCGI’s mascot going forward, represents a bull symbolizing the Korea Bull Market. It consists of a male bull Kobuli and a female cow Koka. Besides expressing hopes for the Korean market’s rise, the company explained that it symbolizes KCGI’s continuous growth and innovation.
A KCGI Asset Management official said, “The newly starting KCGI Asset Management decided to use a mascot to approach customers more familiarly and increase brand awareness,” adding, “Kobuli will be used to explain pensions and fund investments more easily to customers.”
In addition, from August 15, Liberation Day, KCGI Asset Management will hold the ‘Getting Rich with Kobuli’ event wishing for economic independence for all citizens. Anyone can participate, and those who open a new account with KCGI Asset Management and start investing or existing customers who increase their investment amount will be entered into a draw to receive a Kobuli doll or a lumbar cushion for 1,500 people.
Kim Byung-chul, CEO of KCGI Asset Management, said, “Economic independence is a task for all citizens in an aging society,” and added the event’s significance by saying, “As seen in the US 401K case, KCGI Asset Management will demonstrate that economic independence is fully possible through long-term fund investment.”
Meanwhile, along with the name change, KCGI Asset Management announced four key tasks to focus on: ▲strengthening ESG (environment, social, governance) investments to maximize returns ▲improving pension asset returns ▲strengthening global investments ▲enhancing capabilities as a comprehensive asset management company.
