Presiding over the Chief Secretary Meeting: "High Economic External Dependence... Appreciation to Religion and Local Governments"

President Yoon Suk-yeol evaluated the '2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree' on the 14th as having "concluded smoothly" and expressed his gratitude to those who worked hard to support the event.

On the same day, at the senior secretaries' meeting held at the Yongsan Presidential Office in the morning, President Yoon said, "Our country, which has the highest economic dependence on foreign countries in the world, values national brand image above all," according to a written briefing by spokesperson Lee Do-woon.

President Yoon added, "By successfully concluding the Jamboree, I am grateful to the religious groups, businesses, universities, and various local governments that played a significant role in protecting the national brand image," and "I also thank our citizens who warmly welcomed the Jamboree participants." Spokesperson Lee also conveyed that the president praised the efforts of public officials, including the military, police, and firefighters, who worked hard to ensure safety at various Jamboree-related events.

On the 11th, President Yoon had instructed to "continue supporting participant accommodations even after the Jamboree ends." Accordingly, the Jamboree organizing committee decided to provide accommodations, safety, health, hygiene management, and departure convenience until participants leave the country. Local governments and others are supporting transportation for group movements, accommodations, and cultural and experience programs for Jamboree participants who were scheduled to depart after the 12th.
