Sales of 12.6 Billion KRW · Operating Profit of 1.4 Billion KRW
Continued Growth in Glass Business Division
Huons Group's cosmetic material specialist company Huem&c recorded its highest quarterly sales.
Huem&c announced on the 14th that its individual sales in the second quarter of this year amounted to 12.6 billion KRW, marking a 9% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit during the same period reached 1.4 billion KRW, growing by 38%.
Huem&c explained that the growth was driven by the continued expansion of the glass business division. Sales in the glass business division reached 9.3 billion KRW, a 24% increase compared to the same period last year. This was attributed to the expansion of the medical cosmetic market, including not only medical use but also botulinum toxin and fillers.
Sales in the cosmetic business division reached 3.3 billion KRW, reflecting an 18% decrease compared to the same period last year. The cosmetic division explained that this decline was due to a decrease in sales from the processing and distribution of COVID-19 test kits, which were temporarily conducted before the merger with Hubena last year, as well as a decrease in domestic business sales caused by factory machinery maintenance.
Kim Jun-cheol, CEO of Huem&c, said, "Once the ambitiously prepared production base in Vietnam is completed, the growth trend will rise further," adding, "Recently, overseas sales have been increasing in Japan, Southeast Asia, and other regions, and with China expected to resume group tours to Korea, the cosmetic business division is anticipated to show strong growth."
