According to the Gwangju Seobu Police Station on the 13th, a report was received around 6:50 p.m. that day of a German scout, Mr. A, being assaulted by the owner, Mr. B (67), at an accommodation in Hwajeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju.

Mr. A was a scout who participated in the Jamboree and visited Gwangju for a 2-night, 3-day trip with fellow scouts after the official Jamboree schedule ended.

While resting in his room, Mr. B entered without permission, leading Mr. A to demand, "Please leave," and a verbal dispute ensued.

When Mr. B grabbed his arm and Mr. A shouted, another scout who could speak English reportedly called the police.

According to the police investigation, Mr. B stated, "I entered the room to address the issue because (Mr. A and his group) had the window open while running the air conditioner."

The police believe the problem arose because the German scouts and the owner could not understand each other's language, based on their statements.

Meanwhile, Mr. A and the other German scouts have moved to another accommodation in Dong-gu and are currently requesting a refund of their lodging fees.
