Yongho Brigade Military Families Promote Tourism Activation with Discounts at Paid Tourist Attractions in Sacheon
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 14th that it signed a tourism development agreement with the Yongho Brigade of the 8962nd Unit at the mayor's office in the city hall.
The Yongho Brigade is a subordinate unit of the 39th Division, which has jurisdiction over Gyeongnam, and is located in Jinju. It oversees the Jinju, Sacheon, Namhae, Hamyang, Sancheong, Hadong, and Geochang areas, with about 800 military personnel and 100 military officials stationed there.
Through this agreement, Sacheon City will realize tourism welfare for military personnel by providing discounted access to paid tourist attractions within the area and customized tourism products for military personnel, civilian employees, and their families.
The Yongho Brigade agreed to actively cooperate in revitalizing Sacheon tourism by placing Sacheon tourism promotional materials in rest areas for soldiers and reviewing ways to utilize the Sacheon City Tour.
Meanwhile, Sacheon City currently has four tourist sites, two accommodations, and eighteen restaurants voluntarily participating in the discount program, but plans to continue recruiting more businesses to expand the range of options.
A city official stated, “By offering unique tourism products and discount benefits tailored to military families, we hope that military families will travel to nearby Sacheon during vacations or weekends to rejuvenate themselves. We also expect Sacheon City to be imprinted as a memorable travel destination in their lives, thereby securing potential future tourists.”
