Embassies of more than 10 countries, including Finland, stationed in Korea have drawn attention by sending letters of appreciation to Gyeonggi Province for their support of their Jamboree participants staying in the region.
According to Gyeonggi Province on the 13th, starting with the Finnish Embassy on the 10th, embassies from 10 countries including Slovenia, San Marino, Greece, Croatia, Belarus, Bolivia, East Timor, Hong Kong & Macao (China), and Montenegro sent letters expressing gratitude for Gyeonggi Province’s support of their scout members.
The Finnish Embassy expressed their thanks in the letter, stating, "We appreciate Gyeonggi Province’s help and support in making the visit to Korea a memorable experience for the Finnish participants."
Other embassies such as those of Slovenia, San Marino, and Croatia also sent letters reporting that "the scouts are very satisfied with the new accommodations," Gyeonggi Province introduced.
Earlier, on the 9th, Onny Jalink, Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands to Korea, who visited the Gyeonggi Provincial Fire Academy, met with Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province and conveyed, "The participants’ response to Gyeonggi’s programs is very positive. We appreciate the warm hospitality."
In response to Gyeonggi Province’s support, the embassies also expressed gratitude and requested additional assistance.
The San Marino ambassador requested an extension of the stay period for their scout participants. Gyeonggi Province supported the scouts to remain in accommodations in the Yongin area until the 13th. Additionally, for the Peruvian ambassador who requested a visit to the site where their participants were staying, a meeting with the scouts was arranged.
Meanwhile, after receiving news on the 12th that the scout participants were staying longer, Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province promised, "We will take care of the Jamboree scouts who wish to stay longer in Gyeonggi Province until the very end."
He added, "Please do your best to mobilize all available resources such as accommodations, food, and safety to support the scouts so that they can experience Gyeonggi Province and the Republic of Korea more broadly and deeply, and continue your efforts until the last participant departs."
