Ulsan Pay 'No Discount Issuance' 300,000 KRW Pilot
Existing 200,000 KRW Discount Rate Remains 'Unchanged'
‘Ulsan Pay,’ a local love gift certificate in Ulsan, is increasing its usage amount and starting ‘no-discount’ issuance to make payments more convenient. Regardless of the discount amount, the payment limit has been small, causing inconvenience in use.
Ulsan City announced that it will pilot the ‘Ulsan Pay No-Discount Issuance’ starting at 9 a.m. on the 16th.
Currently, the purchase discount rate for Ulsan Pay is 7%, and the purchase limit per person is 200,000 KRW per month. Under the pilot program for no-discount issuance, the no-discount purchase limit per person will be 300,000 KRW per month. Accordingly, the total monthly purchase amount per person for Ulsan Pay has been expanded to 500,000 KRW, combining the discounted 200,000 KRW and the no-discount 300,000 KRW.
An official from Ulsan City said, “This no-discount issuance is being implemented in response to the demands of citizens who have expressed inconvenience with high-value payments such as academy fees and to support small business owners struggling due to the economic downturn.”
Considering that the merchant fee for Ulsan Pay payments is zero, Ulsan City expects that the additional no-discount issuance will help increase the actual sales of small business owners.
Also, with the expansion of usage amounts, payments will become more convenient for users, and it is expected to help activate related businesses such as Ulsan Mall and Ulsan Pedal, which are linked to Ulsan Pay.
The total issuance amount of Ulsan Pay this year is expected to reach 540 billion KRW, an increase of 100 billion KRW from the original plan (440 billion KRW) due to the implementation of this ‘no-discount issuance.’
