Hilic Files Patent Application for 5th Generation Whitening Ingredient 'Toning Effector™' Utilizing Tranexamic Acid

Hilic Files Patent Application for 5th Generation Whitening Ingredient 'Toning Effector™' Utilizing Tranexamic Acid [Development of Whitening Composition Using Tranexamic Acid, Rapidly Emerging Over Vitamin C and Glutathione]

High-functional skincare brand HEALIC announced that it has filed a patent for its cosmetic composition called Toning Effector™, which contains liposome-encapsulated tranexamic acid, developed through its own research.

Tranexamic acid is a hemostatic ingredient approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and its safety has already been verified. However, it was known to cause a side effect of whitening in the area of application. Upon studying the mechanism behind this side effect, it was discovered that tranexamic acid inhibits melanocyte-activating enzymes at the earliest stage of melasma and blemish formation, leading to its approval by the U.S. FDA as a whitening ingredient.

HEALIC explained that its Toning Effector™ is a whitening composition that combines optimal ingredients with different mechanisms to maximize the powerful whitening effect of tranexamic acid, and is liposome-encapsulated to enhance penetration. This will be HEALIC’s first proprietary core technology.

A HEALIC representative stated, “Products applying Toning Effector™ include the HEALIC Toning Active line, which currently offers toner pads, mask packs, and ampoules. The brand’s technology and effectiveness have been highly evaluated, leading to placement in a famous domestic hotel spa brand, and pharmacy placement is planned.” They added, “As HEALIC pursues high functionality, R&D has been emphasized from the brand preparation stage, and we plan to continue developing unique proprietary core technologies and filing patents in the future.”

Meanwhile, BX Lab Co., Ltd., which operates HEALIC, has shown significant growth each quarter. Recently, its niche diffuser brand shaped like a wine bottle, ‘Herisson,’ has been attracting attention with a pop-up store held at Mokdong Hyundai Department Store’s Be Clean until the 9th.
