Korea Racing Authority Let’s Run Park Busan·Gyeongnam is operating a Silver Barista Training Course for local senior citizens in collaboration with Gimhae City Coffee Story Namsan Byeolgok (Social Cooperative).
To create jobs for the elderly, Coffee Story Namsan Byeolgok provides a dedicated training center, and Korea Racing Authority fully supports the training expenses.
The 10 selected participants will receive training twice a week at the training center prepared by Gimhae Coffee Story Namsan Byeolgok until November.
In the lectures, a professional barista certification instructor teaches coffee theory, various coffee brewing methods, practical exercises for certification preparation, and administers certification tests, helping seniors who wish to work in specialized fields obtain their barista certification.
A Korea Racing Authority official said, “As we enter an aging society, one of the preferred education programs for the silver generation is the professional barista training course. We will continue to provide various support so that seniors can contribute to the development of the local community by utilizing their long experience and wisdom.”
Korea Racing Authority Let’s Run Park Busan·Gyeongnam is promoting various social contribution programs to solve local issues together with basic local governments near the racetrack, such as Gimhae City Hall and Gangseo District Office in Busan.
Last year, the social contribution projects aimed at solving local problems consisted of 3 projects worth 30 million KRW, but this year it has expanded to 7 projects worth 120 million KRW.
