In the statement, SPC expressed condolences, saying, "We pray for the repose of the deceased who lost their life in the unfortunate accident at the Shani factory," and "We extend our deepest sympathies to the bereaved family."

It continued, "The company is currently cooperating sincerely with the relevant authorities' investigation and is doing its utmost to accurately determine the cause of the accident and take follow-up measures," adding, "Since immediately after the accident, the factory operations have been suspended, and all colleagues working in the same area are receiving psychological treatment."

Earlier, on the 8th, a worker in his 50s, Mr. A, was involved in an accident at the Shani bakery factory located in Sangdaewon-dong, Jungwon-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, where he was caught in a dough machine. He was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest but regained breathing and pulse and underwent emergency surgery. However, he ultimately passed away around 12:30 PM two days after the accident.

Mr. A was working in a two-person team, lifting dough contained in a round stainless steel container using a lift machine to transfer it to another dough container when the accident occurred.

Investigations revealed that Mr. A, working below the lift machine, was involved in the accident when another worker, Mr. B, who was above, operated the machine without properly ensuring safety.
