SRT operator Korea Railroad SR (SR) announced that on the 10th, when Typhoon No. 6 'Khanun' makes landfall, some SRT train services will be suspended, and train operations will be adjusted depending on the typhoon situation.
A total of 25 trains will have their entire routes suspended, including 21 trains on the Gyeongbu Line and 4 trains on the Honam Line. All 18 trains operating between Gwangju Songjeong Station and Mokpo Station on the Honam Line will be suspended.
Tickets for the suspended trains will be automatically refunded the next day without a separate refund request, and all trains operating on the 10th can have their tickets refunded or changed without penalty. However, tickets purchased with cash can be refunded by visiting a nearby station within one year.
Additionally, depending on the typhoon’s path, wind speed, and rainfall, trains may operate at reduced speeds below 170 km/h or temporarily stop. If continuous chain delays occur, additional train services may be suspended. When strong winds exceed 30 m/s, high-speed lines will operate at speeds below 170 km/h.
SR stated, "During the period affected by Typhoon ‘Khanun,’ train operation plans may be flexibly adjusted depending on the situation. Customers using the trains are strongly advised to check train operation information in advance through the SRT application or website before traveling."
