Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun of Muan County Council Inspects Areas at Risk of Typhoon 'Khanun' Damage

Listening to the Difficulties of Residents Near Frequent Flooding Areas

On the 9th, Kim Kyung-hyun, chairman of the Muan County Council, visited habitual flood-prone areas within the jurisdiction to inspect the typhoon preparedness situation as Typhoon Khanun, the 6th typhoon, was moving northward toward the Korean Peninsula.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 9th, Typhoon Khanun is expected to approach Muan County between the night of the 9th and the 10th, with forecasts of heavy rain of 100 to 200mm and strong winds.


On that day, Chairman Kim inspected the typhoon preparedness status at flood-prone areas that suffered severe damage due to recent heavy rains in the Muan region, including the river entrance of Pyeongwol Village, Handarigyo Bridge in Gojol-ri, and the Cheonggye Bokgil sluice gate, and listened to the difficulties of nearby residents.


After inspecting the site, Kim Kyung-hyun instructed to "maintain the emergency contact network of the county council until the situation is over" and urged, "In case of resident evacuation, special attention should be paid to ensure that nearby disabled persons, elderly living alone, and vulnerable elderly can evacuate safely and promptly."
