Gwangyang City to Showcase Emotional Marketing at the 'International Tourism Expo'

At Ilsan KINTEX from the 11th for Four Days

Branding the Value Vision of Gwangyang Travel

Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 9th that it will participate in the 8th Korea International Tourism Expo and carry out emotional marketing to enhance the image of the tourist city under the theme "Gwangyang Travel Shining Day and Night."


The Tourism Expo will be held for four days starting from the 11th at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Ilsan, and Gwangyang City plans to directly meet domestic and international tourists to brand the value and vision of Gwangyang tourism.

The city will screen promotional videos showcasing the charm of Gwangyang tourism and hold various events that attract visitors' interest to actively promote the attractions of Gwangyang tourism, such as night view spots and hidden tourist destinations.


In addition, processed foods using Gwangyang specialties such as plum concentrate, dried persimmon bread, and pickled plums will be introduced, providing an opportunity to taste Gwangyang.


In particular, Jeollanam-do, Gwangyang City, and 11 other cities and counties will jointly set up a promotional booth to maximize synergy by linking the beautiful scenery and flavors of the southern region.


Jung Gu-young, head of the Tourism Division, said, "At this tourism expo, we will actively carry out emotional marketing that can attract the rapidly increasing travel demand and potential tourists whose travel desires have been suppressed."


He added, "We will take this opportunity to share rapidly changing tourism trends such as smart tourism, local tourism, and ChatGPT, and strengthen mutual cooperation and networks for tourism revitalization."


Meanwhile, the expo, hosted by the Korea Local Newspaper Association including Jeonnam Ilbo and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, will be held on a scale of about 400 booths operated by local governments, institutions, and companies.
