400 Czech Scouts and 11 Venezuelan Scouts to Stay at Korea Military Academy Dormitory in Nowon-gu Starting Evening of the 8th
Nowon-gu to Offer a Spectacle of Lights Including Milky Way Illumination and Light Tunnel at Hwarangdae Railroad Park’s ‘Nowon Bulbit Garden’ on the Evening of the 9th, Along with Various Attractions such as Train Cafe, Nowon Train Village, Time Museum, and Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail Gallery
Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it is making every effort to welcome 411 participants of the World Scout Jamboree.
Starting the evening of the 8th, 400 Czech scouts and 11 Venezuelan scouts, who traveled from Saemangeum in Jeonbuk to Seoul, will stay at the Korea Military Academy dormitory located in Nowon-gu.
On the morning of the same day, the district held an emergency countermeasure meeting chaired by the mayor to discuss detailed plans regarding programs, meals, interpretation, and transportation for the Jamboree participants visiting Nowon, preparing thoroughly.
As this is a national event, the district is responding promptly to government requests to provide a memorable experience for the guests visiting Nowon-gu.
The district plans to utilize various existing healing and cultural spaces. It will include representative healing spots such as Bulamsan Healing Town (Bulamsan Butterfly Garden, Garden Support Center, Circular Walking Trail) and Hwarangdae Railroad Park, which have been developed since the 7th local government administration, as well as Bulamsan Together Forest, the Seoul Science Museum, the Seoul Museum of Art, the End Center, the Ceramic Experience Center, and the Skate Park, maximizing youth infrastructure in the schedule.
On the evening of the 9th, at Hwarangdae Railroad Park’s ‘Nowon Bulbit Garden,’ a spectacle of lights including Milky Way illumination and a light tunnel will be presented, along with various attractions such as the Train Cafe, Nowon Train Village, Time Museum, and Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail Gallery.
On the afternoon of the 10th, the Kim Deok-su Samulnori troupe will be invited to perform at the Nowon Culture and Arts Center Grand Theater. Through the Kim Deok-su Samulnori performance, which has introduced Korean traditional sounds to the world, participants will have the opportunity to experience Korea’s traditions.
Also, on the evening of the 10th, K-chicken, a unique Korean delicacy, will be served as a snack to offer a special taste and memorable experience.
On the 11th, a cultural program will be held at the Korea Military Academy. Participants will watch a military band performance and tour hidden gems of the academy such as the Army Museum and the Monument of Teachings, and experience activities like traditional Korean archery (gukgung), horseback riding, and drones.
Meanwhile, before the arrival of the Jamboree participants, the district visited the Korea Military Academy to inspect the facilities. To prepare for any possible accidents, an ambulance is kept on standby at all times, and hygiene inspections were conducted on food providers, establishing an additional safety and hygiene management system.
The participants will attend the official K-pop concert and closing ceremony on the 11th and plan to leave Nowon-gu on the morning of the 12th.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “As this is a national event, we intend to spare no support by utilizing all available resources,” adding, “I hope the 411 Jamboree participants will leave with wonderful memories from the cultural city of Nowon.”
