According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, Haenam-gun is expected to fall under the influence of Typhoon No. 6 "Khanun" starting from the 9th, with forecasts of strong winds and heavy rain.

In response, the Haenam-gun Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters plans to maintain an emergency work system at each stage of the emergency as a preemptive measure against the typhoon warning. To ensure proactive disaster safety response, inspections will be conducted on vulnerable areas and facilities such as landslide-prone zones, rivers, and reservoir embankments. Additionally, resident awareness will be strengthened through village broadcasts and emergency disaster text messages, and the emergency response system will be reinforced to enable prompt recovery activities in case of damage.

Furthermore, led by the heads of departments and townships, urgent inspections and safety measures will be carried out in areas prone to damage during the rainy season. Pre-evacuation and pre-control will be conducted in landslide risk areas and river/coastal flood zones. Water levels in reservoirs will be managed, and drainage pump stations will be inspected. Facilities and crops vulnerable to strong winds will be checked, falling hazards will be secured or removed, and mooring and lifting of vessels will be performed.

Governor Myung Hyun-kwan urged, "Protecting residents' lives is our top priority. I ask that we closely monitor upcoming weather conditions and maintain a close cooperative system among related departments to ensure that no casualties occur due to the typhoon by thoroughly conducting preemptive inspections."
