Priority Implementation in 11 Townships Starting from August
Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 8th that it will first implement a lunch break closure system at 11 myeon administrative welfare centers starting in August, and will fully implement it from November 1.
The county office civil service center and Geochang-eup administrative welfare center plan to pilot the closure system every Wednesday in September and October, address residents' inconveniences, and fully implement it on November 1.
Until now, the county office civil service center and Geochang-eup administrative welfare center have handled civil service tasks through shift work during lunch hours, but employees were not guaranteed rest time during absences such as annual leave or training.
In addition, the lunch break closure system is being implemented to guarantee rest time for civil service staff and improve work efficiency to provide better administrative services.
Geochang-gun plans to actively promote the system through the county office website, social networking services (SNS), and electronic display boards to ensure that no civil service users experience inconvenience during lunch hours, and will continuously address difficulties and inconveniences arising from the implementation of the lunch break closure system.
Also, various certificates can be issued during lunch hours through unmanned civil service issuance machines or the online government portal Gov24 (gov.kr). Passport applications, seal certificates, and personal signature verification certificates, which cannot be issued online, can be applied for through the weekly ‘Tuesday Night Civil Service Center Advance Reservation’ system.
