Dead Shark Found at Incheon Hanagae Beach... Coast Guard Says "Not a Dangerous Species"

A dead shark was found at Muui-do Beach in Incheon, prompting the Coast Guard to issue a special warning.

According to the Incheon Coast Guard on the 7th, a dead shark was discovered near the jellyfish net fence in the mudflat of Hanagae Beach, Muui-do, Jung-gu, around 11:30 a.m. the previous day. The shark measured 82 cm in length and 34 cm in girth.

After consulting experts, the Coast Guard believes that the shark, presumed to be from the Carcharhinidae family, is neither a threat to humans nor a species requiring protection.

An official from the Incheon Coast Guard stated, "Avoid wearing bright-colored swimwear, and do not enter the sea if you have wounds on your body as the smell of blood can attract sharks. To prevent safety accidents, swimming should only be done inside the jellyfish net fence and accompanied by a guardian."
