According to industry sources, on the 1st (local time), the City of Hope National Medical Center announced that it had developed a targeted chemotherapy drug capable of killing all solid malignant tumors (cancer tumors) in preclinical studies. The mentioned drug (AOH1996) is an oral low-molecular PCNA (proliferating cell nuclear antigen) inhibitor used to suppress the proliferation of tumor cells.

According to the preclinical trial research report, researchers tested AOH1996 on more than 70 cancer cell lines and several normal cell groups. This clinical trial therapy blocked the division of cells with damaged DNA and prevented the replication of defective DNA. As a result, AOH1996 was found to induce apoptosis (or programmed cell death) in cancer cells without interfering with the reproductive cycle of healthy stem cells.

The City of Hope is known as one of the best cancer treatment centers in the United States and is designated as a comprehensive cancer center by the U.S. National Cancer Institute. B.L., a specialized new drug development company, announced at the end of last year that it would conduct joint exosome research with Dr. Makuchi, head of the City of Hope Leukemia Center.
