Park Juseon, President of the Petroleum Association, Joins the 'Single-Use Products Zero Challenge'

Next Runners SK Energy's Jo Kyungmok and S-Oil's Ryu Yeol Recommended

The Korea Petroleum Association announced on the 7th that Chairman Park Ju-seon joined the 'Single-Use Products Zero Challenge' relay initiated by Minister Han Hwa-jin of the Ministry of Environment in February this year.

The Single-Use Products Zero Challenge is an eco-friendly campaign where participants make hand gestures representing the numbers 1 and 0, symbolizing a promise to reduce the use of single-use products in daily life, and then nominate the next participant. The campaign aims to raise nationwide awareness about reducing single-use product consumption and encourage the habitual use of reusable products.

On the 12th of last month, Woo Ki-hong, CEO of Korean Air, recommended Heo Se-hong, CEO of GS Caltex, and Joo Young-min, CEO of HD Hyundai Oilbank. On the 24th of the same month, CEO Heo joined the campaign and requested Chairman Park Ju-seon of the Korea Petroleum Association to participate next.

Chairman Park said, "All employees of the Korea Petroleum Association practice recycling scrap paper and using reusable items such as mugs instead of paper cups." He added, "Through this challenge, we will further strengthen our daily commitment to the environment and the future."

Chairman Park nominated Cho Kyung-mok, CEO of SK Energy, and Ryu Yeol, CEO of S-Oil, as the next participants. This signifies a shared commitment to realizing carbon neutrality and environmental responsibility within the refining industry, which is transforming into a sustainable energy sector by strengthening ESG management, resource circulation, and diversifying green businesses. With the participation of SK Energy and S-Oil, all four major refiners will be joining the 'Single-Use Products Zero Challenge.'
