Polaris Office is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by the growing expectations in the securities market ahead of Naver's unveiling of its ultra-large AI (artificial intelligence) large language model (LLM) 'HyperCLOVA X'.
As of 9:28 AM on the 7th, Polaris Office is trading at 6,280 KRW, up 2.28% from the previous day.
Choi Soo-yeon, CEO of Naver, expressed confidence in the competitiveness of integrating ultra-large AI with services, calling 'HyperCLOVA X' a unique platform unlike any other in the world during the Q2 earnings conference call held on the 4th.
CEO Choi stated, "Various AI-related efforts by Naver, including infrastructure investments to enhance AI capabilities focused on in recent years, development of backbone models that form the basis of generative AI, application of these backbone models to Naver’s own services, and ultimately the creation of a broader AI ecosystem, are progressing smoothly."
She added, "The first is to establish 'global-level foundational technology.' At the DAN conference scheduled for the 24th, the next-generation backbone model forming the foundation of the generative AI strategy, HyperCLOVA X, and the conversational AI service based on it, Clova X, will be officially unveiled. Clova X is a conversational chat platform that anyone can easily use, and it also has extensibility through a skill system that allows easy integration with external services, enabling various experiments based on it."
Oh Dong-hwan, a researcher at Samsung Securities, said, "Currently, investors’ interest is focused on the performance of HyperCLOVA X compared to global models and the potential for new revenue generation through integration with Naver’s existing services."
He added, "HyperCLOVA X is expected to be a long-term growth driver as it not only enhances user experience by integrating across Naver’s vertical services such as search, commerce, local, and travel, but also creates new B2B demand such as cloud services."
Meanwhile, Polaris Office’s main product is 'Polaris Office,' a document-based software similar to Microsoft Office. It allows editing of various documents (Doc, PPT, Xls, PDF, etc.) within a single program and features a lightweight engine that makes it easy to integrate with existing work systems. As of the end of Q1 this year, it has secured 124 million subscribers across 243 countries, with approximately 20,000 to 50,000 new daily sign-ups. Polaris Office plans to launch a Korean-style AI office based on Naver’s ultra-large AI ‘HyperCLOVA X.’
