The business agreement ceremony was held with key executives including LG Uplus's Lim Jang-hyuk, Head of Corporate New Business Group (Executive Vice President), and Eugene Robot's CEO Park Sung-joo. Eugene Robot, a leading domestic robot specialized company, has independently developed all technologies related to autonomous driving robots, from 3D LiDAR sensors to autonomous driving and functional safety controllers, standard and custom platforms, and system integration (SI). Eugene Robot's autonomous driving robot 'GoCart,' capable of carrying loads up to 500kg, was the first logistics robot in Korea and the third in the world to receive the robot safety standard 'ISO13482' certification in 2021. Additionally, it has been exported to six countries worldwide, including Germany and Slovenia, beyond the domestic market.

Through this collaboration, LG Uplus will play the role of establishing a stable robot usage environment based on 5G communication networks and platforms, while Eugene Robot will provide high-quality logistics robots and business operation know-how in the market. Furthermore, both companies plan to launch subscription-type products to reduce the initial investment burden on customers. Lim Jang-hyuk, Head of Corporate New Business Group (Executive Vice President) at LG Uplus, stated, "Thanks to close cooperation with our partners, LG Uplus has successfully entered the serving robot market, so securing strong allies is our top priority in entering the logistics robot market as well." He added, "We will accelerate the development of a robot platform that can innovate customer experience together with Eugene Robot."
