Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) conducted a preliminary on-site inspection on the 4th to provide more convenient civil services to residents ahead of the opening of the Cheongnyangni-dong new office on the 14th.

District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung toured the Cheongnyangni-dong new office, inspecting facilities such as the book cafe, communal childcare room, and gym. He checked whether there would be any inconveniences for residents using the office and verified the appropriate arrangement of the civil service waiting area, conducting a facility pre-inspection in preparation for the relocation and commencement of operations at the Cheongnyangni-dong Community Service Center.

The newly established Cheongnyangni-dong office is located at 239 Wangsanno (former Miju Shopping Center Building B) and will be responsible for the administrative and welfare needs of a total of 10,087 households in Cheongnyangni-dong.

The previous Cheongnyangni-dong Community Service Center (total floor area 795㎡) was a building completed in 1985, with limited space causing many inconveniences for residents and staff. Accordingly, in 2019, the district signed a business agreement with Miju Development, the owner of the officetel at 235-6 Cheongnyangni-dong, to secure space for the new office building.

Additionally, to reflect residents' opinions during the project process, a preference survey for move-in facilities was conducted in 2020 with 500 Cheongnyangni-dong residents, incorporating the placement of a small library and communal childcare room into the design.

The new Cheongnyangni-dong office, which will relocate in August this year, has a total floor area of 2,283㎡ and consists of two basement levels and four above-ground floors, expanding approximately three times the previous area. The 4th floor houses an integrated civil service office, multipurpose auditorium, book cafe, and communal childcare room; the 1st basement floor includes a gym; and the 2nd basement floor provides parking, creating a complex cultural space for residents' convenience.

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “With the establishment of this new office, Dongdaemun-gu now has an additional cultural welfare space where residents can comfortably handle civil affairs and enjoy leisure activities.” He added, “We hope the new office will become a space where local residents communicate together and be loved by the community.”
