20s Male Arrested for Murder Threat at Wangsimni Station

"Posted the article as a joke" statement

A man in his 20s who posted a murder threat on a university student community application (app) was arrested by the police.

On the 4th, the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul announced that they had apprehended the suspect Min Mo (20) who threatened murder around Wangsimni Station in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

At 12:04 PM that day, Min posted a message titled "At 16:00 today, I will kill everyone at Wangsimni Station," writing, "I don't want to live anymore. I will kill everyone and then kill myself."

The initial report was received by the Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency and the case was transferred to the Seongdong Police Station. Tracking the post's origin, police urgently dispatched to Min's residence in Gangseo-gu and arrested him at 5:50 PM.

The police confirmed and confiscated a cane shown in the photo at the scene. Min stated that "I posted it as a joke," and is currently under investigation after being taken to the police station. Two hours after posting the murder threat, Min posted an apology message.
